ORYX ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF TROSEC®

Mississauga, Ontario September 12th, 2006 - Oryx Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Oryx) is pleased to announce the introduction of prescription Trosec® (trospium chloride) in Canada for the treatment of overactive bladder.

Trosec® is approved in Canada for the treatment of overactive bladder with symptoms of urge or mixed urinary incontinence, urgency, and urinary frequency. Overactive bladder is a chronic, distressing condition characterized by symptoms of urinary frequency and urgency with or without urinary incontinence. The prevalence of overactive bladder increases with age in both men and women and a 1999 Health Canada survey estimated 1.5 million Canadians are affected by urinary or fecal incontinence. It has been estimated that in patients with urinary incontinence there is a 30% increased risk of falls a 3% increased risk of fractures because of increased frequency of going to the toilet.

Trosec® has been demonstrated to offer patients a significant decrease in the number of total voids and incontinence episodes per 24 hours with clinical improvement seen within the first week of treatment. In addition, treatment with Trosec® was demonstrated to significantly decrease urge frequency and urge severity and improve quality of life and symptom bother over placebo. Trosec® will represent a new alternative for Canadian patients and physicians who are not responding or are experiencing side effects with their current medications.

According to IMS Health Canada the market for products used to treat overactive bladder in Canada recorded sales of approximately $63 million in 2005 with a corresponding annual growth rate of +12%.
